A petrol tanker carrying 15,000 litres of premium motor spirit (PMS) during the early hours of this morning (2am, Friday, 17th January 2020), reportedly experienced mechanical fault at Isiokwe Junction by MCC, opposite Mountain of Fire Ministry, Onitsha and caught fire.

Residents and passersby say men of the Anambra State Fire Service Department including the State Fire Director, Martin Agbili promptly arrived the scene following SOS calls to them and put out the fire thus preventing what potentially could have been a disaster reminiscent of the 2019 Ochanja fire incident.

There are no reported casualties from the incident.
