Panic, palpable fear greets the camp of former Governor of Plateau State, Mr. Jonah Jang as the Plateau State High court is set to deliver judgement today, December 31, 2019, in the case of embezzlement of public funds and money laundering proffered against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

A close ally to Mr. Jang confirmed that the former Military Administrator and later Civilian Governor has been unusually quiet after, Sen. Orji Uzor KALU, also a former governor, and currently serving a APC Senator and indeed a principal officer in the National Assembly was sent to prison. Mr. Jang, the source said, is of the opinion that, if a powerful member of the ruling party could kiss the prison walls, that no body that has any corruption case is safe.

Recall that, Justice Daniel Longji of Plateau High court had fixed today, the December 31 date for the delivery of judgement on the corruption case, and barring any last minute changes, the die is cast and the man in question, must have parked his briefcase, awaiting any eventual outcome.

Senator Jang is being accused of misappropriation of funds to the tune of N6.3 billion while he was the state governor for an eight years, between 2007 to 2015.

Justice Longji adjourned to 31st December for ruling after listening to the final submissions of the counsels of all the parties involved.

Recall also that a former governor of Abia State and a serving Senator, Mr. Orji Uzor Kalu was sentenced to twelve years imprisonment for N7.5 billion fraud in November 2019.
