urges pmb to order a forensic audit of 13% derivation accrued to oil producing states…

A pan Ijaw group, the Movement for the Survival of the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND),has once again called for the restructuring of the Nigeria federation, insisting that, it is the only way out of divisiveness of the country.

This was released in a telephone chat with newsmen in Yenagoa , by the National Secretary of MOSIEND, Amb. Winston Cotterel Amain.

Amb. Amain who decried the level underdevelopment of the oil rich Niger Delta condemns the action of the Governors interfering in interventionist Niger Delta Development Commission.

The Niger Delta activist also calls on the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Victor Akpabio to urgently focus on the completion of the East West Road as that road has become a death trap.

MOSIEND also commends the President, Muhammad Buhari for ordering for the Forensic Audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission from inception of the establishment of the agency till date. Amb. Amain insists that no stone should be left unturned, as all contractors who are yet to complete their jobs should complete such jobs.

According to Amain “Every Contractor that has been paid and have not completed their jobs should be brought to book and such contractors should be forced to cough out such funds”. He added.

The MOSIEND scribe also urges President Muhammad Buhari to also order for a similar Forensic Audit of the 13% derivation funds accrued to oil producing states and necessary actions. Noting that, it is only then, that we will know that President Buhari has the region at heart. Amain laments that the oil producing communities have suffered for too long.

The Niger Delta Peace Ambassador states that the need for restructuring is now or never while suggesting that the Buhari led administration should immediately convoke a Constitutional conference or in a bid to cut cost, should review the Constitutional Conference convoked in 2016 by Goodluck Jonathan administration. Noting that, only then that the Nigerian Federation will remain one indivisive entity.
