A former Senator that represented Abia Central Senatorial District and immediate Past Pro Chancellor University of Calabar Distinguished Senator Nkechi Nwaogu PhD CON has described June 12 1993 as the cornerstone of Country’s democracy.

Ihie Abia described late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola as the Father of Nigeria modern Democracy, renowned Politician and successful businessman who paid the ultimate price for the entrenchment of Democracy in the Country and unequivocally stated that the struggles of Late Chief Abiola will not be in vain.

Distinguished Senator Nkechi Nwaogu PhD CON made a Clarion call for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religion, cultural and political affiliations to add their own quota towards maintaining of peace and stability in country as that will be the best honor to accord to Late Chief M.K.O Abiola.

Senator Nwaogu later prayed that Chief M.K.O Abiola will continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord and felicitated with Nigerians as we commemorate another Democracy Day.
