The youths of Isiala Ngwa North LGA under the aegis of Isiala Ngwa North Youth Congress have staged a mega declaration and support for the PDP Governorship candidate, Prof. Uche Ikonne.
Speaking at Umuomaiukwu Primary School Field, Nsulu Isialangwa North LGA, the leader of the group Engr. Chuks Njoku assured Prof. Ikonne and all PDP candidates that the youths of Isialangwa will make sure that no other party except the PDP secures victory during the 2023 general elections. He said they have adopted Prof. Ikonne as their consensus governorship candidate for the 2023 general election and assured him that they will deliver him along side other PDP candidates in the State.
Responding, Prof. Ikonne thanked the youths for their thoughtfulness in organizing such a mega rally, and expressed happiness in their level of organization. He told the youths that he will prioritize their needs and will make sure that no youth will be left untouched in the coming administration, he stated that it is the reason he is proposing a participatory governance structure.
Prof. Ikonne assured that Abia would witness massive development because of the caliber of people that the PDP nominated to stand for elections and reechoed his promise that the youths will occupy 40% of his government.
Also speaking, the PDP candidate for Abia Central senatorial zone, Col. Austin Akobundu and PDP House of Representatives candidate for Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency, Prof. ACB Agbazuere told the youths that Prof. Ikonne is a man who has worked with youths all his life and has what it takes to develop Abia youths. They said that the greatest thing they will do for themselves is to work hard to make sure that Prof. Ikonne becomes the Governor in 2023 as well as ensure that other candidates of the PDP in the State emerge victorious in the polls.
Contributing, the PDP candidate for Isialangwa North State Constituency, Mr Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu and his Isialangwa South counterpart, Chief Rowland Ceasar all thanked the youths for standing by PDP, and promised that when elected they would work with the incoming Governor Ikonne to ensure that Abia youths get quality and sustainable empowerment.
In their respective speaches, some stakeholders including Hon. Uzo Azubike, Elder Sam Esindu eulogised Prof. Ikonne’s candidature and thanked the youths for throwing support on Prof. Uche Ikonne and advised them to ensure victory for all the candidates of the PDP.
Some dignitaries including, Commissioner for Youths Development, Barr. Charles Eseonu, Sir Mac Atasie, Mr Bright Ikokwu, (Osama), DG of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign organization, Barr. Chinedum Elechi and members of the Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization accompanied Prof. Ikonne to the event.
