Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has called on the people of Umunneochi to vote for PDP candidates to ensure total development of Umunneochi LGA.
Governor Ikpeazu who was speaking while commissioning projects executed by the administration of Chief Ifeanyi Madu as the Executive Chairman of Umunneochi LGA, said that it is only the PDP that has offered the people of the old Isuikwuato District, which today is made up of Umunneochi and Isuikwuato LGAs, partnership, adding that other parties are known for empty promises and propaganda.
He noted with joy that it is under a PDP government that an Nneato person was elected as Executive Chairman of Umunneochi LGA for the first time ever, in addition to an Isuochi man being a Gubernatorial Running Mate and the incoming Deputy Governor of Abia State.
Governor Ikpeazu congratulated the Chairman for his accomplishments ,adding that Chief Ifeanyi Madu has through his stewardship written his name in gold and opened the doors for other sons and daughters of Nneato Community.
The Governor used the forum to charge Youths of Umunneochi to ensure that the issue of insecurity in the area is nipped in bud.
In his remarks, the State PDP Governorship Candidate, Professor Uche Ikonne represented by his running mate, Barrister Okey Igwe thanked the Governor for remembering Umunneochi people in the scheme of things and assured him that they will vote massively for the PDP in the forthcoming general elections.
In an address, the Executive Chairman of Umunneochi LGA, Chief Ifeanyi Madu said that the Projects being commissioned were products of the love and support of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to his administration and Umunneochi people at large.
Highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of award of honour as “The Most Performing Governor Abia has ever Produced to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu by the Umunneochi Traditional Rulers Council and was witnessed by the Commissioner for Information Dr Eze Chikamnayo, PDP candidate for the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Barrister Mrs Loveth Ofoegbu, Candidate for Umunneochi State Constituency, Chief Fabian Nwankwo, amongst other stakeholders.
