Good News as FG and ADP flags off Training of Extension Workers in Abia State

There was a widespread jubilation at Abia State Agricultural Development Programme Office Ossiah Ibeku as the Federal Government in collaboration with ADP kick-starts the training of extension workers.

The Minister of Agriculture in his Keynote address read by the Director Federal Ministry of Agriculture Engr. Victor Ihediwa expressed the readiness of the Ministry of Agriculture to actualize the dream of training of 75,000 extension workers and ensure food Security and job creation for Nigerians.

The State Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu who was represented by the acting Commissioner Abia State Ministry of Agriculture, Mr Effort Nwankwo expressed gladness over the training. The Governor’s Representative said that Agriculture under Governor Ikpeazu is receiving great boost and congratulated the lucky trainees.
Speaking earlier while welcoming his guests Chief Amanze Israel expressed a lot of excitement that a lot of good things are coming the way of Abia farmers through the ADP. He said that many collaborations engaged by the ADP is paying off greatly and has seen them train and empower farmers in Rice, maize and goat farming, Poultry, Pest control, Ginger farming, food processing and a lot more.


He informed the participants that after due considerations three value chains of Cassava, Maize And Poultry were selected as commodities of greatest comparative and competitive advantages for Agribusiness in Abia state. He congratulated the lucky beneficiaries and assured extension agents in the state that next batch will soon take care of them. The workshop will last 4 days.
