The PDP Governorship Candidate for Abia State, Prof. Uche Ikonne has lauded a PDP chieftain and founder, OBINWANNE SUPPORT INITIATIVE, Barr. Randy Ukanwoke for organizing a free medical outreach for his people of Umuahia South .
Prof. Ikonne was speaking recently at a free medical outreach which equally included regular free diabetes screening, drug support and food palliatives for less privileged rural dwellers in Umuahia South LGA organised by OBINWANNE SUPPORT INITIATIVE, a foundation owned by Chief Randy Ukanwoke.
Represented by Sir Chinedu Ugoala, Prof. Ikonne said the gesture is quite commendable. He appreciated the fact that over 350 indigent persons received different material gifts including drugs and food items while 75 under privileged widows also received wrappers.
The Incoming Governor, who described the event as hallmark of the PDP stalwart who he said are known for putting smiles on people’s faces, assured that his government when elected next year would carry everybody along. He reiterated that his TIGER Economy manifesto would cover trade, industrialization, good and inclusive governance, education and rural development among others.
Prof. Uche Ikonne further appealed to the good people of Umuahia South to que behind the PDP and ensure victory for him and all PDP candidates in Umuahia South LGA while assuring that they would not be disappointed.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the occasion and CEO Cheza Ventures limited, High Chief Eze Ukeleonu commended Barr. Ukanwoke for the good gesture. He used the opportunity to solicit support for the election of Prof. Uche Ikonne, saying that he is the most qualified and prepared to serve Abia State as Governor from 2023.
According to him, Prof. Ikonne has distinguished himself in all ramifications and deserves to be supported. He expressed confidence that if elected, Prof. Ikonne would prioritize healthcare and rural development for the people in the hinterlands and Abians at large.
