The former Commissioner for Finance in Abia State, who was also the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) governorship aspirant and the first runner up during the primary election in the just concluded 2023 general elections, Chief Obinna Oriaku has congratulated the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial Zone, His Excellency, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu over his resoounding victory at the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division.

The Abia APC Chieftain, while reacting to the reaffirmation of the victory of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu of the All Progressives Congress APC in the February 25 polls described the verdict of the Court as a reflection of the wishes of the people of Abia North zone in particular and Abians in general due to the outstanding performance of the serving Senator in the last 4 years.

Chief Oriaku noted that; the unanimous ruling by Appeal court justices uphelding the National Assembly Petitions Tribunal, Umuahia which had earlier dismissed the petition of People’s Democratic Party’s Mao Ohuabunwa and Labour Party’s Nnamdi Iro Orji for lacking merit is a testimony of his seamless victory during the election.

He noted that the setting aside by Court, the prayers of Iro Orji, to disqualify Senator Kalu for having allegedly admitted before the Federal High Court that he was convicted of fraud is a clear testimony that the allegations levelled against the Senator are mere political witch – hunting which lacks legal backing as the Court affirmed that there is no valid conviction of Sen Orji Uzor Kalu under section 66 of the Nigerian constitution as the said conviction had been nullified and therefore of no effect

Chief Obinna Oriaku therefore urged the litigants to join hands with Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu in the development of Abia North and encourage him to continue with his giant strides in bringing the dividends of demicracy to the people which has been the hallmark of his effective representation since he was first elected into the red chambers.
