Professor, Mohammed Aliyu Paiko a professor of Biochemistry & Biotechnology Dept. of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai (IBBUL), Niger State has developed an Advocacy PROPOSAL for the Creation of “Academic Staff Union of State Universities (ASUSU).”
The university Don in his seven point proposal noted that: Each State University should take up their local issues with their Council and Visitor. Prof Paiko said that the National Body of ASUSU to be for Benchmarking meetings and to share Experiences. He added that each State University can strive for global competitiveness.
While expressing his anger he said ASUU for now does not respect them and they have nothing to gain by following in their struggles, adding that “Strike” is NOT the LAST RESORT to Negotiations.
The Prof. Of Biochemistry and Biotechnology note that to save Nigerian University system, creative thinking is required NOT Stagnation.
All State Universities have NO further business in ASUU, after Osedeke tagged them ALL as “Irrelevant Quacks”
Professor Muhammad Aliyu Paiko therefore called on state government to take up full responsibility of funding their own state university to stand on their feet.
