Anxiety has enveloped seven states especially Imo and Sokoto States ahead of today’s consideration of the governorship electoral petition by the Supreme Court.
Supporters of Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal and Imo State Governor Enemy Ihedioha are awaiting the verdict of the apex court with bated breath. Feelers from Sokoto indicate that there is an uneasy calm in the state of the caliphate. They allege the judgement is quite uncertain and can go either way. Another judgement that has caused tension is that of Imo state. There is an allegation of the current Imo state Governor, Emeka Ihedioha not meeting the constitutionally required two third votes cast in the 27 LGAs of the state during the Governorship election. There is also a controversial prophecy alleged by the Catholic fiery preacher of the famous adoration ministry, Enugu, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka. While some allege the man of God said, ” Hope Uzodinma is coming to take over from Emeka Ihedioha”, others said the man of God never mentioned Sen. Hope Uzodinma but merely said that, ” Hope is coming for Imo state”. Which ever way you may interpret it, the message has heightened the tension in the Eastern heartland and people are anxiously awaiting the Supreme Court verdict today.
