The Board of trustee’s member of Maize Association of Nigeria (MAAN) southeast, and current program manager Abia state Agricultural development program (ADP) Hon Israel Amanze okeorji Abia , says the Anchor Borrowers program of President Muhammadu Buhari which MAAN cued in, is succeeding in maize production across the country
The MAAN board of trustee member made this known while answering questions from newsmen after he inspected the level of work done at the erection of maize pyramid, ahead of 30th anniversary celebration of MAAN in Nigeria in kaduna state
Hon Amanze after going round the pyramid with some southeast members of MAAN expressed pleasure that the erection of the pyramid in line with MAANS objectives, saying that the formation of the mega pyramid is an indication of the country’s positive achievement in agricultural production,
Amanze we must know it that it is only through diversification that our economy can move forward and agricultural sector remains the best way of such diversification and to achieve success in a very short time. As you can see here the anchor borrowers program through MAAN realized these from various states which. Means it’s truly succeeding in maize,though it may be succeeding in other areas too and I want to thank president Buhari. CBN and MAAN for this collaboration and achievements.
Chief Israel he further advised government at all level to support the farmers more in area of agricultural production, and transformation of our raw materials instead of exporting the raw materials outside the country which will in turn give Job opportunities to unemployed Nigerians.
The difference between Groundnut and maize pyramid is that we were sending out our raw materials, this time whatever we produce ,should be transformed here, add values to them, and as well as send finished products, government too has a role play to be supportive and create more jobs for our people . ADP manager Abia state added
He further assured that the people of Southeast which he represents will continue to do more in contributing significant at the upcoming pyramids to enable them feel the impact of maize production.
