The Board of Trustees Chairman, Abia Grassroots Movement, Chief Isreal Amanze has on behalf of the Movement congratulated Chief Okey Ahiwe on his emergence as the PDP gubernatorial candidate for Abia State.

Chief Amanze who disclosed this when he led members of Abia Grassroots Movement on a solidarity visit to Chief Ahiwe at his Umuire Eziama Ntigha country home in Isiala Ngwa North LGA, maintained that Abia is about to witness a quantum leap in infrastructural development across the State in the months ahead.

The Board of Trustees Chairman pointed out that the Group which has been in existence since 2010 has over thirty-two thousand and fifteen ( 32,015) members with their Permanent Voter Cards and are ready to use their numerical strength to deliver all PDP candidates at the polls.

He further disclosed that as an agricultural association, they are working hand in glove with the state government in assisting farmers in the areas of subsidizing prices of fertilizers, training and empowerment of youths and promised to give him all the necessary support.

Responding, the Abia PDP governorship candidate for next months general elections, Chief Okey Ahiwe while describing farmers as partners in progress and integral part of any society said he envisions a new era of leadership where farmers in the State will move from subsistence farming to mechanized farming for food sufficiency and excellent return on agricultural investments.

Chief Ahiwe thanked members of Abia Grassroots Movement land Chief Amanze in particular for pitching their tenth with him and promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him.

The Commisioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Christopher Enweremadu, the PDP candidate for Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Chief Collins Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu ( Miri Oma ) among other notable personalities witnessed the event while a minute silence was observed in honor of late Professor Uche Ikonne who passed on recently.
