According to a release sent to Newsmirrorng.com, Abia State former Finance Commissioner is going to declare his ambition to contest for the 2023 Governorship position in Abia State in the coming weeks.
The message reads
My formal declaration of interest to contest Abia Governorship under APC.
Dear supporters, I first have to thank all for your steadfastness in mist of not too settled political situation in our party.
We have gone for the convention at Abuja which I served as a sub committee member on budget . The convention which was successful afforded us opportunity to resolve our leadership crisis which almost imploded the party.
We are very sure that issues concerning many state chapters of APC will also be resolved soonest. As a contestant for Governorship position, our focus is to reach out to every body irrespective of position or political leaning and that was successfully done while at Abuja.
I had extensive meetings with our members and these meetings yielded the desired results. These meetings were towards having a United APC in Abia State.
My meetings with them provided opportunity for harmonisation of views and plan on how to confront PDP in Abia State. I also used the opportunity to reach out to many of the newly inaugurated NWC members of our party at the national and zonal level .
Having done all the above, the stage is now set for the formal declaration of my interest for the Governorship position of Abia State under the APC.
This event will be a strategic one as few but important personalities will be invited . It is not a rally and the date will soon be communicated but this will be on or before Easter.
