The Committee set up to review the employment processes in Local Government Service Commission advised the public to disregard any information asking anybody to pay any Amount of money saying that such act is nefarious and is been done by mischief makers.

This was contained in a Press Release signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Chief Don Ubani.

It reads

It has sadly come to the attention of the Panel Reviewing Irregular Employment Of Staff In Abia State Unified Local Government Service that some fraudulent elements now go about asking affected suspended employees in the Unified Local Government Service who have been invited to a verification exercise at Michael Okpara Auditorium to contribute the sum of N20,000 in order to influence the decision of the Panel. The Panel wants to state categorically that the alleged demand is the handwork of criminal opportunists who only want to capitalize on the temporary predicament of the suspended Staff. The Panel, therefore, warns that any suspended Staff that pays any sum of money in respect of the verification exercise to any person foolishly does so at his or her own detriment. No suspended Staff should go to Ibeku High School, Umuahia or any other venue for any meeting organized by the criminal elements before coming to Michael Okpara Auditorium for purposes of the verification exercise.
