The Ohuhu clan in Umuahia North LGA, Abia state after their meeting, has zoned the House of Assembly seat and insist on producing the Member of House of Representatives for Ikwuano/Umuahia in 2023 elections.
Here is the details of their communique:
COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF CONSTITUENCY MEETING OF THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY HELD AT THE PREMISES OF DR. AHAM UKO PhD ON THE 26th OF MARCH 2022.
Sequel to the meeting held by elders and leaders of our great party the PDP in Ohuhu, A resolution was reached during the constituency meeting held at the country home of our leader Dr. Aham Uko PhD, the party after due considerations and consultations came out with the following resolutions that will enable us come out victorious and stronger in the forth coming general elections
1)That the Umuahia North house of assembly seat has been zoned to Umuhu
2)Any Okaiuga son or daughter contesting the Umuahia North house of assembly seat will not have the support of our party.
3)The party had advised ndi Umuhu to go hold a meeting within themselves if they agree and wish to microzone it to any of the ABSIEC wards in Umuhu
4)That it is the undeniable right of Ndi Ohuhu to represent Ikwuano /Umuahia in the House of Representatives come 2023, and that it will amount to gross injustice if Ohuhu, is denied the opportunity in 2023.
5)That in order to go into the race and come out successful, the party has taken steps to ensure that we do not experience what happened in 2019 primary elections wherein we lost the primaries to the incumbent the second time.
6)That every Ohuhu man or woman aspiring to represent Ikwuano/Umuahia in the House of Representatives should submit his names and details to H/Chief Uche Aguoru on or before Monday the 28th of march 2022 since the purchase of nomination forms will be ending on the 1st of April 2022
7)That the party will set a panel that will screen all the aspirants in order to come out with a strong candidate who has the capacity, ability and acceptability of our brothers across Ikwuano/Umuahia
8)That at the end of the internal screening exercise the party will pick two aspirants and possibly settle for one out of the two and present him to our Ikwuano/Umuahia brothers for their support during the primary elections, this is to ensure that we don’t share our votes into many pieces as we did in 2019 which gave the incumbent victory over our own people.
9)We want to tell every Ohuhu man or woman in different positions of authority both at the local government, state or even federal level to ensure that the House of Representatives seat for Ohuhu is not compromised at any level.
10)Finally, the Ohuhu clan will resist any attempt by anybody or group of people to subvert justice and equity by denying Ohuhu our rights come 2023
