IKPEAZU AT NTA CHANNEL 6, ABA… PLEDGES ASSISTANCE

The management of the Nigeria Television Authority, Channel 6, Aba sent an SOS message to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Their message was simple, “Come over to Macedonia and help us”. The Station is a tale of abandonment.

From broken and outdated studio equipment to dilapidated buildings, collapsing roofs and fallen fences, the entire place is an eye sore.

According to the General Manager of the Station, Nwadi Elobuike, the back fence of the station had fallen opening a way for criminals to have unrestricted access into the premises. She called on the Governor to intervene.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu expressed deep concern at the state of the station and called on the NTA Headquarters to take the issues very seriously.

He described NTA ABA as a key part of the history of Aba and stated clearly that in terms of reach and viewership, NTA remains Number One in the country and as such, all hands must be deck to save the station from total collapse.

He assured the General Manager that help will come in the next seven days, especially in the area of securing the premises through the rehabilitation of the perimeter fencing and asked them to provide him with their official survey plan to assist him take appropriate action. He also pledged to intervene in the renovation of their studio and major offices, and generally make the place more comfortable for the workers.
